Jesse

Red Red Sun

I feel like a lazy, useless person because I don't like going to work. Let me rephrase that. I like what I do, I just don't enjoy the process of waking up, driving, and not being at home. I have a case right now that's twice a day. Driving there and back twice is a bit annoying, but I really seem to be getting along quite well with this patient. It only lasts two weeks and we'll have to see what happens from there. Tomorrow I'm learning about a new case. It's going to be 8am - 8pm. That's an awful shift. I plan on eventually only doing two days of this a week, but because we got this case on such short notice, chances are I'll be doing more than that for a week or so.

I think I just need to get used to working again. I also think it'd help if I had a regular schedule I could depend on. My mind craves consistency.

Ivana XL is so very lovely, give her a listen.

I have a new desk from IKEA. I love it. I'm pretty happy to have some matching furniture in my room now, rather than whatever I could get my hands on. OF course there's still a lot of progress to be made. By the time I'm happy with my room, I'll be moving out. I'm going to post picture of it tomorrow.

I got my very first scrubs in the mail today. I've been wearing my mother's up to this point, all of which fit weird on me. There was one pair of pants that fit perfectly so I ordered two pairs in the same size. They do not fit and I'm pissed.

My dog eats lemonheads. Weird, right?

Sgt. Pepper's

The Christmas Update

What I Got:
The Office, Seasons 1 - 3
Record Player
Bed (mattress on the way)
The James Dean Collection
Shelf
Brand New Poster
2 Sets of Sheets
Framed Artwork by Karmen (hehe)
Money & Giftcards
Fleet Foxes - s/t LP & Sun Giant EP

What I Bought:

The Office, Season 4
4 Fake Down Pillows
Fake Down Comforter
Elite Beat Agents (ds)
Brain Age 2 (ds)
Super Mario 64 (ds)
DS Game Case

It doesn't look like a lot listed there, but I feel pretty spoiled. I ended up spending most of my money on eating out while Liz was up. I suppose it was worth it now that the diet has started. We also ended up going to a hockey game and to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (so very good btw). Aside from that I bought lots of things I needed like shampoo, tissues, medicine, party poppers, and champagne. I plan on finding some money to spend on amazon to stock up on comic books.

My NCLEX test is finally set for the 22nd. I don't know if I'll be able to get away from my new ds games long enough to study.

Days Six & Seven

I would like to note that I hate allergies, especially when they attack late at night just as you lie down. That way, there's even more of a struggle to breathe. I do have a $50 Wal-Mart girftcard from work (I was thinking wtf too) that may be spent entirely on Benadryl, Vick's tissues, sunflower seeds, and flavored water. Mmm. Yes, that should hit the spot.

Is it sad that I'm going to say sleep and getting off of work made me happy a second day in a row?

For today something much better though, my Aunt's fried chicken and fried potatoes! Complete with giant bag of leftovers. Needless to say, the diet hasn't started yet.

Day Three

All day marathons of Arrested Development = day three happiness

Had little party that ran into the wee hours of today. That made me pretty happy, so that counts also.

The thoughts of getting to see Margot & The Nuclear So & So's again make me happiest of all!

Cry Malkmus Cry

I thought I posted this last night, but apparently things went awry.

I went out last night to help my Aunt shop for an iPod. Not only did I get a kick out of her not-so-techno-savy way of life, but I'm pretty sure the guy at Circuit City did also. Did I mention he was cute? It was fun though and I don't know how, but I got $60 in gift cards out of the deal. It looks like I'll be seeing cutie, "Hello My Name is BRIAN" again soon. When we got back to her house I spent an hour trying to explain the way everything works and putting some music on it for her. At this very instant, I am downloading ABBA and not for my pleasure.

I don't know what to eat, there is a stranger in my house, and I'm sleepy.

The Fabulous Four

Today is a good day.

I am now officially done with clinicals for my LPN program. Today was hectic and perhaps the busiest day for me yet, but I was right up front helping a doctor (if only slightly) with three different procedures. It was an incredible work out and I am still incredibly sore. On the positive side, I improved my muscle tone.

I have no school tomorrow and will be catching up on sleep like it's my job. I have a couple test on Thursday to study for, but they are both short and sweet and one also happens to be open-book. I've been keeping my grades up and have a little room to slack off on these. I've got bigger fish to fry.

Tomorrow Toni and I are carving pumpkins at her house. The sole purpose being to get the seeds out and bake them. I am so ready for homemade pumpkin seeds.

Last night my mom took my brother and I out. I got some comfy and soft pajamas at Kohl's. Then we went to Chili's. It was delicious. The best part is that now both my mother and brother love it and we possibly get to eat there more often. To top it off we headed over to Target. Immediately my eyes gazed upon a totally rad Bomber jacket. I have been wanting one for as long as I can remember and now, finally I got one hell of a sweet ass jacket. It is lined with fur and feels oh so nice.

I want to say that I can't think of Jennifer Hudson without wanting to cry. I feel terrible for her.

PS - Boo Philies. Lose muthafuckers lose!

Holla!

Skully's!

I have just returned from the show at Skully's in Columbus. It was my first Margot show and they did not disappoint. In fact, they were better than I could have ever dreamed. Here's the set they played.

There's Talk of Mine Shafts
At The Carnival
O' What A Nightmare
Mariel's Brazen Overture
On A Freezing Chicago Street
Cold Kind And Lemon Eyes
A Children's Crusade On Acid
Skeleton Key
My Baby (Shoots Her Mouth Off)
As Tall As Cliffs

It would have been longer, but right after this there was an entirely different concert. It doesn't matter it was incredible anyways, best birthday concert ever. There will be pictures later thanks to K Dog!

Holla!

Your face is turning so red!

Complete and total awkwardness with 27 year old cute respiratory therapist makes me not want to go to clinicals even more tomorrow. From now on I'm going to have to get dolled up before and it's not like I can even look good in that terrible white uniform. It is really awkward though. At least I won't require blush.

*one giant sigh right here*

He is real cute though...

Straight Up Ganstas

I have hangnails and raggedy cuticles.

I fear they may be my downfall. Bacteria and other microscopic terrors tend to live there occasionally and I am worried my rigorous hand washing skills aren't up to par. I do not want creepy germs to be the death of me. Dying slowly due to unstoppable bacteria is definitely going on the giant list of ways I absolutely can't die. Oh damn guess what happens twice this week! That's right I travel approximately an hour to see the most wonderful band ever. I can't wait to get my hands on the special extended edition of the Sex and the City movie. I also want/need to buy a silicone case for my phone. We all know I don't take scratches on electronics very well. Of course my MacBook is looking rougher by the day. I think it is really just the first few marks that hit me where it really hurts. What an ADD paragraph.

Spider

I am simply sitting on my bed typing up the cover letter my mother wrote for me when suddenly I see a small black dot scurry next to me. I assumed it was a fly, but to my utter horror is was a huge spider! (It became bigger when I found out its true identity.) I let out a shriek as if Eugene Tombs himself had just crawled out of my toilet covered in bile and eyes a glowing yellow. In my state of panic I failed to notice at first this detestable beast was crawling all over the very pillows I lay my head on when I venture off to dreamland. How sickening the realization was! That's when I decided it was now or never, I had to be the first to make a move. Thinking quickly, I grabbed some Cotonelle toilet paper and reached towards it. It scampered in a tiny crevice on my favorite blanket and possibly the softest thing in this solar system. A little part of me died right then. Now enraged and fueled by pure fury, I snatched that little demon up an squeezed with all my might. It was over. He was dead. If this were television, or a movie perhaps, the character I play would contemplate this death and realize that what I had done was cruel and unjust. I did not share this mindset. I was relieved that no spider would be laying eggs inside of my ear tonight. I can only pray that god forgives me for this selfish act.
